Walmart Makes Miracles in Ashland, Kentucky
Walmart Supercenter #2638 in Ashland, Kentucky, knows what it means to help kids. In 2020, they raised $16,149.87 as the top fundraising Walmart location for Kentucky Children’s Hospital.
Associates accomplished this total by asking customers to round up their purchases at the register. Manager Brad Bartley fueled staff morale through competitions, setting fundraising goals and celebrating with pins for high-achieving associates.
“Whatever we fundraised yesterday, we try to beat the next day,” says Bartley. “We track Walmart locations across the entire region and try to stay number one.”
But for the Ashland staff, it’s about much more than bragging rights. Many staff members have children who were treated at Kentucky Children’s Hospital. They understand that CMN Hospitals dollars stay local and make a difference.
“We were all kids once, and CMN Hospitals is something we can get behind,” says Bartley. “Anything we can do to help our nation’s children is something we should do.”
Walmart, Inc. locations raised a total of $372,257.59 for Kentucky Children’s Hospital in 2020. Every penny rounded up will directly benefit Kentucky Children’s Hospital, funding medical equipment, patient services, and education.
